Service is one of the core pillars of Scouting. It teaches responsibility, leadership, and the value of helping others without expecting anything in return. Whether it’s supporting our chartered organization, helping at community events, or pitching in on projects around the neighborhood, each hour spent in service helps Scouts grow and strengthens our community.
As part of their advancement journey, Scouts are encouraged (and sometimes required) to complete service hours for their rank. Keeping an accurate record of these hours helps the troop track progress, recognize achievements, and make sure each Scout receives credit for the effort they put in.
To make things easy, we’ve created a simple Service Hours Form that you can download and fill out.
Click the link below to download the Service Hours Form:
You may complete the form in one of two ways:
Fill it out electronically (recommended)
Print it and complete it by hand
Once the form is complete, choose whichever submission method works best for you:
Email the filled-out form to troop leadership.
Option B – Bring it to the Next Troop Meeting
Hand the form to any adult troop leader or the Scoutmaster.
Provide as much detail as possible about the activity.
Make sure the date, location, and number of hours are accurate.
If the service activity was part of another organization (school, church, sports), that still counts — just note it on the form.
Scouts should turn in service hours as soon as possible after completing them.
Conservation hours should be marked on the form and details of what was done should be included.
